Cold coffee

ALL ABOUT COFFEE

In the beautiful season, a popular beverage returns to the spotlight.

With the arrival of the warm season, a very popular drink returns to the forefront of bars: cold coffee .
However, it is not something that can replace the classic espresso from the bar or the homemade coffee made with the moka pot or with capsule machines, which remain the mainstays of breakfast and after meals, but rather a refreshing and energetic drink to be consumed mid-morning, in the afternoon or late evening.
In our country, cold coffee, especially in the center-south, is very popular. The classic is prepared by filling a glass bottle with long coffees, leaving it in the refrigerator for hours to bring it to a low temperature. Before serving, some add a generous teaspoon of coffee cream, others a splash of whipped cream, but essentially they are always long espressos served cold.
However, this is not the only way to prepare this drink. Let's look at some more or less well-known classics that can pique our curiosity, naturally using Marziali Caffè products.

People drinking cold coffee

Shaken coffee

Made with coffee, ice and liquid sugar, it is prepared by the barman by shaking the ingredients quickly so as not to water it down too much. It is served in the classic Martini glass and is presented with a compact frothy foam.
Adding milk creates the frappuccino, much loved by American customers.

Sicilian style cold half

Typical of eastern Sicily, the mezzo freddo is a cold espresso combined with coffee granita.
It is served in a small bitter glass and can be garnished with whipped cream (mezzo freddo macchiato).

Iced coffee

Typical of Salento, the preparation of iced coffee is simple to make: pour a boiling espresso, which can be bitter or sweetened, into a cup full of ice. In Puglia it is common to add a few drops of almond milk. Excellent to consume on the beach on sunny days.

Vietnamese Cold Coffee

The opposite of our espresso, which already in its name indicates the speed of preparation, Vietnamese coffee is obtained with the specific drip coffee maker. In this recipe, the drops of coffee are slowly dropped onto the condensed milk, and at the end the liquid is poured into a large cup filled with ice.

Ice coffee

Widespread in international chains, Ice Coffee is a generous drink obtained by filling 2/3 of a glass with cold milk foam to which is added the espresso previously prepared in a separate cup containing four coffee cubes. For those who do not prefer it bitter, add sugar and stir the coffee before adding it to the milk foam.
